Study Abroad in Buenos Aires: Student Life
Orientation
The first weekend precedes the intensive Spanish instruction (60 hours during 3 weeks), which prepares students for their time in Argentina. Further orientation continues in the final week of the intensive Spanish course, including lectures, an immersion program with locals, extracurricular activities (barbecue, sports outing, Tango lessons, etc.), registration and details about the semester program. Also included is a meeting with faculty of the Latin American Studies Program. The Resident Director organizes activities to further enhance introduction to the city.
Activities
Students find many activities in and around Buenos Aires: art museums, churches and theaters, plus opera, jazz, rock and classical concerts. Discos and cafés are a way of life for Argentine students. The Resident Director also organizes trips outside the city.
