Program at a glance
- Academic year (July 2008-July 2009), July-December 2008 and February-July 2009 semesters study abroad program at the
Macquarie University in Sydney
- Open to college sophomores, juniors and seniors
- 2.5 minimum GPA required
- Program fee includes housing, a meal allowance, excursions
and cultural activities, a Pacific Studies 10-day program in Fiji, airfare if selected, and optional trip to the Great Barrier Reef, and more
- Courses in Pacific Studies, Australian area studies, liberal arts, business and sciences. Unique Aboriginal and Australian Studies program
- The local AIFS Resident Director and staff organize cultural activities and housing, act as a liaison between students and the university, and are available 24/7 in case of emergencies
- On-site orientation in Sydney
- Internships available
- Volunteer program in local community
- Transcripts issued by Macquarie University plus Certificate issued by the University of the South Pacific
- Visa mandatory for Australia. Apply to the Australian consulate
Application and scholarship deadlines
- Applications for the academic year or July-December semester will be accepted on a space available basis. February-July semester applications must be postmarked by
October 15.
- AIFS Study Abroad Scholarships available. The scholarship application deadlines are April 15 for academic year or July-December semester; October 1 for February-July semester.
