Study Abroad in São Paulo: Cultural Travel
From São Paulo, it is easy to reach many other locations in Brazil. The beaches on the Atlantic coast are just a short distance away and easy to reach for the weekend.
Day visit to Guarujá (Included in fee)
Saturday, July 3 Students take a day trip to Guarujá, a beautiful beach in the state of São Paulo.
Transportation, lunch and some monitored activities are included.
Optional 3-day visit to Rio de Janeiro ($645)
Friday, July 9 Evening flight to Rio de Janeiro. Transfer to hotel situated in the famous Copacabana or Ipanema district.
Saturday, July 10 No trip to Rio would be complete without paying a visit to the statue of Christ the Redeemer located at the top of Corcovado Hill. After seeing Brazil's most recognized location, students go to Pão de Açucar ("Sugar Loaf"), which has become one of Rio's main attractions due to its sheer height and unmistakable outline. Lunch is included.
Sunday, July 11 After breakfast, students go on a tour of Jardim Botânico, where they will have lunch before enjoying free time in the afternoon. Early evening flight to São Paulo.
Flights, transportation, accommodations, breakfast, lunch and entrance fees as indicated are included. Students must enroll and pay for this excursion by April 15. Students who apply after the deadline may enroll subject to availability. If a minimum enrollment of 10 is not achieved, the tour may be cancelled. Once paid for in the U.S. optional excursions are non-refundable.
Day visit to São Roque (Included in fee)
Saturday, July 17 Students visit São Roque, a beautiful city with a Mountain Park and wine yards. There is also the chance to see the San Antonio cathedral and to pass by the chocolate shop where students can see chocolates being made.
Transportation, lunch and the entrance to the Mountain Park of São Roque are included. Activities in the Mountain Park and ski and snowboarding equipment are not included.
