Study Abroad in San José: Cultural Travel
As well as class-related day trips for 4-credit courses taught in English, AIFS also organizes the following weekend excursions for all students, included in the program fee.
3-day visit to Arenal Volcano, Baldi Hot Springs and Monteverde Cloud Forest (Included in fee)
Friday, July 9 Afternoon departure by bus to La Fortuna Waterfall on the Arenal route. Visit the Baldi Hot Springs, where you can bathe in the warm waters of the spa.
Saturday, July 10 Enjoy the vista of the Arenal Volcano and the wide variety of birds and mammals that take refuge in Arenal Lake. Later travel to Monteverde to see the famous Cloud Forest, which is the main destination for most tourists to Costa Rica.
Sunday, July 11 Departure from Monteverde Private Reserve, dedicated to the conservation of the area's flora and fauna. Evening return to San José.
3-day visit to Manuel Antonio National Park (Included in fee)
Friday, July 16 Afternoon departure by bus to Manuel Antonio National Park which has some of the most beautiful beaches on the Central Pacific coast.
Saturday, July 17 Day at leisure to enjoy the park and beaches: white sands and warm water surrounded by lush vegetation.
Sunday, July 18 A last look at the flora and fauna of the park including monkeys, sloths, raccoons and many species of exotic plants and flowers. Early evening return to San José.
The two excursions include accommodations, transportation, entrance fees and breakfast. Lunch and dinner are not included. Dates and itinerary are tentative and subject to change.
