Study Abroad in Hyderabad: Academics

Students take courses as part of the University’s Study India Program (SIP) established in 1998. It is an interdisciplinary initiative emphasizing heritage, continuity and change in India. Students are encouraged to take one language class plus 3 other content courses.

Course load

The normal course load is 4 courses for 4 credits each, totaling 16 credits for the semester. Each course is taught for a total of 60 classroom hours. All courses are available during both the fall and spring semesters.

Grades

No AIFS participant is permitted to take a course without receiving a letter grade. Pass/Fail grade options are not available.

Attendance

Students must attend classes or provide valid excuses for absence. Failure to account for absences may result in mandatory withdrawal from the course.

Credits/transcripts

All transcripts are provided by the University of Hyderabad.
