Study Abroad in Rome: Program Fees

Fees include:

  • Tuition (includes a maximum of 16 semester credits, subject to course selection)
  • 2-week orientation in Florence, plus room, breakfast and dinner in a student residence or hotel
  • In Rome, housing in apartments or in an Italian home with restaurant vouchers for five breakfasts and five lunches or dinners per week
  • Cultural activities such as visits to museums, art galleries, churches, theaters, archaeological sites, concerts, cooking, and wine tasting
  • 2-day visit to London
  • 3-day visit to Venice
  • 3-day visit to Naples and Pompeii
  • Computer facilities with Internet access
  • Services of a pre-departure Student Advisory Center and an on-site Resident Director
  • Pre-departure handbook
  • Phone card on arrival to call the U.S.
  • Round trip airfare if that option is selected

The Program fee without airfare does not include the non-refundable $95 application fee, required insurance/assistance package fee of $475, and a refundable damage deposit of $250. AIFS guarantees that these fees will not increase.

The Program fee with airfare does not include the above reference fees/deposit. Additionally, it does not include airline and airport related taxes and fuel surcharges currently estimated to be $500. AIFS guarantees that the airfare and airline/airport-related fees and surcharges will not increase beyond this estimate, even in the event of the assessment of additional fees by these entities.

See “Travel” section for full details and alternate return city and date options. Transfers to and from campus are included for students who have booked their flights with AIFS, but only on the scheduled arrival/departure dates and from the local airport.

Those who provide their own transportation may also participate in the 2-day visit to London, but must make their own way to and from the hotel in London and to campus. Those who provide their own transportation but do not participate in the 2-day visit to London are ineligible for a rebate and are responsible for making their own way to campus by scheduled program start dates.
