Service Learning in Stellenbosch: Program Fees

AIFS All-Inclusive Program Fee: $6,795

• Tuition — up to 7 semester credits (subject to course selection)
• Housing in double rooms in University residence halls
• Meals — daily breakfast in the residence hall
• Cultural activities such as vineyard tours, sports events, hiking and a visit to the township of Kayamandi
• 6-day tour of the Garden Route with bed, breakfast and dinner, plus visits to Cape Town, Robben Island, Cederberg Mountains and the Cape of Good Hope
• Comprehensive insurance and assistance package
• Computer facilities with Internet access
• Services of a pre-departure Student Advisory Center and an on-site Resident Director
• Pre-departure handbook

Please note fee does not include the non-refundable $95 application fee and $250 refundable damage deposit. Students choosing this standard option are responsible for making their way to and from campus by the scheduled program dates.

AIFS Program with Optional Round-Trip Flights and Airport Transfers

For your convenience, AIFS will arrange your round-trip airfare (including all fuel surcharges, taxes and fees), meet you at the arrival airport(s) and provide transportation to and from the program site on scheduled arrival and departure dates. Option for this program will include:

• All-inclusive program as specified above, plus

  • U.S. to Cape Town
  • Cape Town to U.S.
• Airport transfers
  • Cape Town to campus
  • Campus to Cape Town

Please note: In 2010 the summer program in Stellenbosch coincides with the soccer World Cup which is being held in South Africa. This will affect the cost of airfares to Cape Town. Exact rates are not available at the time of catalogue publication (July 2009), but we estimate that flights will cost between $2000 and $3000.
