Learning and Development Internship with Irish Community Resource Center

This organization is a community resource center that offers numerous educational, community, youth, and childcare programs to meet the needs of the local community in Dublin’s northern inner city.

Intern tasks may include:
– Working as part of the summer project team with volunteers, students, program coordinators, and managers
– Working directly with the children and young people supporting them in all aspects of their daily activities and routines while aiming to build a bond with the young people and the volunteers
– To learn about youth work and good youth work practices in development meetings with the help and support of the team

Theater Education Internship with Youth Theater NGO

This is a unique, non-profit youth theater that: produces original musicals performed by New York City kids ages 8-18 for family audiences; offers a year-round Resident Youth Ensemble composed of approximately 70 NYC kids ages 8-18; provides renowned education programs in more than 30 New York-area public schools; and provides theater classes taught by professional Teaching Artists. They are more than a theatrical training ground; they exist to provide kids from all racial, economic, and social backgrounds a place where they can develop individual talents while being a vital part of a group. It is a place for exploring the world of musical theater, for discovering unknown talents while cultivating undeveloped ones, for establishing friendships, and for gaining a sense of one’s self. Through all of their different programs children learn lessons that they will carry with them for the rest of their lives whether they stay in theater or not. Theater teaches structure, discipline, and problem solving skills, which are critical to their success both in school and in life.

Intern tasks may include:
– Assisting with musical theater week-long camps and/or with the Afternoon Adventures Program
– Leading warm-ups and games during the flexible drop-off period
– Working with teaching artists (director, choreographer, and musical director) as a part of their team-taught class model
– Providing administrative support for education staff (i.e. assisting with student check-in/check-out, registrations, answering parents’ questions, organizing song files, communicating overall philosophy, etc.)
– Contributing to the development of the curriculum both in-house and off-site in the schools and community centers; (if interested) opportunities to research possible grant/funding opportunities for their theater education work

Education and Outreach Internship with Consumer Advocacy Organization

This organization provides government, businesses, and other organizations with the consumer’s perspective on concerns including child labor, privacy, food safety, and medication information. Career Development Internship with Irish University

This University Career Center aims to provide high quality information, advice, and guidance service to Irish students and recent graduates. They assist with the development of career management skills; job searches, applications, and interviews; and identifying graduate study options, application, and entry procedures.

Intern tasks may include:
-Helping with the redevelopment of the Career Development Centre website including reviewing current content, writing new content, and conducting surveys/focus groups with key stakeholder groups
-Helping out with preparations for events such as the program of recruitment fairs and employer events
-Completing data analysis on key metrics (service user satisfaction, workshop evaluations, etc.) for use in annual report and other publications
-Developing resource and marketing materials
-Training of processes and procedures
-Work shadowing on skills workshops and one-to-one appointments
-Attending on-campus recruitment presentations

Education Internship with a London NGO

This is an award-winning, non-profit organization that trains current university students and hires them to tutor English and Math to primary school pupils. They work with pupils in Years 5 and 6 who are getting ready to take their SATs and help them become superstars for secondary school.

Intern tasks may include:
– Shadowing the program coordinator, to understand the briefing for the development of the Summer School program, activities, and resources
– Developing an interactive educational program suitable for children aged 8 – 11 according to guidelines
– Assisting in the planning of the recruitment phase and ensuring the efficiency of processes
– Engaging with partners and engage new Universities in arranging ‘host days’
– Shortlisting applicants for tutor positions, and assisting with contacting successful applicants
– Assisting with organizing and coordinating Summer Schools, ensuring all participants have completed forms and have all the necessary information
– Assisting with analyzing the data to evaluate the program, measure the impact of the Summer School, and build sufficient reports for clients

Education and Public Relations Internship with London Museum

Housed in a Grade I listed water pumping station built in the 19th century to supply Londoners with water, this Museum is recognized as the most important historic site of the water industry in Britain. How it Works

Step 1

Apply

Submit your application and start working with your Admissions Counselor. We will have an interview to learn about your career goals, educational background, and location preferences to ensure that you are a good candidate to intern abroad.

Step 2

Accept

Once your interview and application are complete, you’ll be cleared to apply. Your Admissions Counselor and our Placement Team will determine if we’re able to match you with a great host employer in your chosen destination. If accepted, this means we can guarantee you an internship within your career field.

Step 3

Enroll

After acceptance, the next step is to simply enroll into the program with your initial deposit to secure your spot. Enrolling means you have officially decided to join the program and take on the challenge and thrill of living and becoming an intern abroad in a new city!

Step 4

Prepare

Before you arrive in your host city, you will work one-on-one with your Program Advisor. They work with you on professional development, career advising and make sure you are ready to move and intern in your new home.

Step 5

Interview

We will start the match-making process and narrow down employers to a select few that you would be a great fit for. You’ll have a Skype or phone interview before you leave, so they can get to know you, and you can get to know them. If everything goes well, then your internship is confirmed! You’ll know where you’ll be interning and the role you’ll be walking into before you hop on the plane.

Step 6

Arrive

When you’ve arrived in your city, you will meet the Location Coordinator and the other interns at your housing. Your internship will start soon after you’ve arrived and there will be social events and excursions throughout the course of your program. We strive to give you the independence you want with all the support and resources you need to be successful during your travel and internship.
