Clíodhna Dunne headshot.

Clíodhna Dunne

Hi, my name is Clíodhna and I’ll be looking after you in Maynooth. I have lived close to Maynooth for my whole life. I am a graduate from Maynooth University with a degree in History and Accounting. I love to travel and have been to the U.S. and most of Europe. I have been working with study abroad groups in both Maynooth and Dublin since the beginning of 2018. I will be helping you to settle into the university here and will show you a lot of Ireland and Irish culture. I can’t wait to meet you and welcome you to my home university and to Ireland!

The Program Director provides academic advice, introduces you to the community and handles communication with the University.

The Maynooth summer program is designed to give students a well-rounded experience and a true taste of Irish life and culture. AIFS students can access a wide variety of extracurricular clubs and societies, events and excursions over the course of the summer including an Irish farm experience and tours around Ireland. Your AIFS Program Director will also be a wealth of information about things to see and do to make the most of your study abroad experience.

It is less than a 10-minute walk from the housing to all classrooms, libraries, shops and public transport links. Frequent commuter trains to central Dublin take 40 minutes.

On-campus facilities for students include an indoor sports hall and fully-equipped gymnasium, which accommodates a wide variety of indoor sporting activities including badminton, basketball, fencing and karate. The university has a swimming pool as well as numerous playing fields which cater to outdoor sports such as soccer, rugby, hurling and camogie. Maynooth student clubs and societies offer on-campus events during the summer school.
