The Sydney Sustainability track is a co-curricular course which was nominated for the Sustainability International Impact award and Study abroad and exchange experience of the year in the PIEoneer Awards 2023. The program includes credit bearing coursework on sustainability, alongside a series of volunteering activities and lectures structured around five of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), with completion resulting in a digital badge.

All students will undertake the following unit of study: Oceans, Coasts, and Climate (4 U.S. credits). Practical activities include lectures, taking a biodiversity tour in Sydney, volunteering to clean up local parks and more!

Digital badge: completing our SDG activities will result in a Sydney Sustainability Program digital badge, which can be shared on 100+ social media platforms, or a certificate to share with prospective employers.

The University of Sydney’s short term program offers the largest unit of study selection in Australia to Study Abroad participants. Each unit is taught in an intensive format, while maintaining credit values. Many units of study are taught alongside local students and provide hands-on experiential learning in an Australian context.

You will choose a unit of study to undertake in the disciplines of Arts & Social Sciences, Business, or STEM. Each unit of study is worth 6 USYD credit points (4 U.S. credits).
